Raising the Eyebrow for Riyadh Adventure

After plaquing my bushy eyebrow the night before, I got a surprise invitation from a highschool friend to go with her family to Riyadh which I couldn’t refuse because I’ve always wanted to see the city despite how strict it is. Well, the country as a whole has many restrictions which law is based from the Quran but Riyadh is different because this is the seat of the country’s monarchy. Picture taking is strictly not permissible in government premises and properties in the entire kingdom but it is almost impossible to take picture everywhere in Riyadh. You should be cautious about your hairstyle and way of dressing as it may catch not only the public's attention but religious police’s attention. There are more rules that need to be respected and observed. To be honest, I was really hesitant pursuing my travel but I said to myself “it’s now or never”.

Riyadh is a very big city. It is surprisingly beautiful and modern. Amazing architecture have risen up and surely more to come. Shopping malls are numerous. Boutiques and shops are ubiquitous.

Photos below were taken while we were on the car.

It's also the third tallest building with a hole in the world (after Shanghai World Financial Center and Tuntex Sky Tower). AL-Mamlka Tower contains a total of 41 floors and 2 basement levels.AL-Mamlka Tower is owned by Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, a prince of the Saudi royal family.
