The Heat of KSA's National Day washes Chin Chun Su on my face!!!!!

24th of September 2011 is Saudi Arabia’s National Day and surprisingly its very quiet compared to previous years. We went to Corniche expecting we would see people dancing on the streets or atleast a display of fireworks but its completely the same as ordinary weekdays. Police Patrols were everywhere.

Getting refueled at Mc Donald's after a long wait of their prayer time to be finished outside where the air was uber humid.
(Oh d ba? parang may dibdib lang akich!)

The place to be in downtown Khobar, host to the best coffee shops and fanciful restaurants. Walang traffic jam!!!! There were barely cars on the street!!!! Where all have the Arab people gone?!!!!

With no great spectacles at sight, we decided to head to shops to check the latest and must-haves this coming winter season. I’ve taken some pictures for my wishing list.

I’ve always wanted a brown leather jacket which women should have as well in their wardrobe as it looks very sexy and very street-chic looking.

One should definitely have a blazer for a lazy day ( both for men and women). When you have no idea what to wear ? Any top would definitely work with a blazer and you’ll surely hit a chic statement looking majorly effortless.

This black jacket is gorgeous!!!!!!!

Then to Corniche.

With fab friends Jonathan (left) and Christopher (right).

love your sneaks Chris!!!! they are really cool!!!

Gosh! the double coating of Chin Chun Su cream on my face is literally melting!!! Super Humid! Kaloka!!!

There were many families scattered in the picnic area so we took extra caution in taking shots so as not to call anyone’s attention which we inevitably did. Two Arab Nationals approached us and joined the squad, far-out!

Then to Krispy Crème for a cold drink to end the evening where I got so curious about this Italian Soda.

Infairness! sumakit ang tyan ko ditich!!!!

Bonggang-Bonggang Mercedes-Benz Spring Summer Show 2012

Monique Lhullier showcased her fabulous 2012 Spring Summer Collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week this month.

Watching this just makes me feel proud to be a Filipino.

Super love the trench coat with lace details, that's really genius!!! and the gowns are as usual very beautiful and romantic.

( Parang ang sarap isuot at irampa!)

I love her!!!!

Another show stopper is DVF with prints you'll fall in love with easily. Their signature wrap-around dresses still manage to look trendy. Fierce!!!

(mahihilo ka sa comb. ng prints pero super beautiful ang effect! Luv it!!!)

The whole eclectic look of Mara Hoffman is uber fabulous. From the outrageously mala-ensaymada Bun, mala-native accessories na parang nabibili lang sa Baguio na may ka-sosyalan to the nicely printed dresses. This is major!!!

Wala namang kahilig hilig tong Nicole Miller sa kulay. For me, the look is quirky and very young which I love. The combination of psychedelic colors and the crazy prints could have been a disaster but looks really great! The leggings and the jumpsuit are my top favorites!

Falguni & Shane Peacock is also a winner for me because of the unexpected combination of details.

So yan mga favorites ko na collection sa Mercedes-benz 2012 Spring Summer Fashion Show. So I hope you got some fashionable ideas for next year summer/spring guys!

Sale Alert!!!!

My friends and I have strong radars when big sales strike the city so we waste no energy in rushing  to stores to bag some good deals.

To my fellow Filipinos living in Saudi Arabia, Centerpoint is offering up to 60% discount on almost all items!!! This is major guys!!!

I bought a sweatshirt, electric blue trousers and wallet leather chains as shown below for a total of around $30.00 only (around SR100.00 or P1,000.)

I wanted to use the wallet leather chain as a belt (para maiba namam) so I bought 2 and I love how it turned out.

You may not love the color combination but I think it works.  What do you think?

Is my outfit ok Sir?

Ive had a lot of remarkable experiences in my first few weeks of stay in the country which taught me a lot of lessons.

First Lesson:  Never give up.

My attention was first called by one of the managers when I used to wear a tote bag where I put my grooming kit. But that didn't stop me from wearing a bag, i bought an envelope bag immediately on that same day.

2nd Lesson: Expect the worst when your boss calls you.

This time? our Division Manager. When he called me I thought I was about to hear a good news that will change my career but to my great embarrassment, I was reprimanded for wearing a low V-neckline shirt which I paired with a blazer.

3rd Lesson: If you dont like working at site, use an umbrella.

I never thought I would be working at a construction site (my greatest nightmare). Exposure to the sun is something inevitable so I bought an umbrella as soon as I've heard the news. Being there was like a battlefield, the sun is your enemy which you've got to protect yourself from by using an umbrella besides sunblock. Four days after I was sent back to the main building.

4th Lesson: Don't ever wear the same thing as your boss's wife.

Of all people, I happened to have the same belt as my boss's wife. I couldn't help but notice my boss looking at my rope inspired belt that morning, I had the impression he likes it and finds it cute (which is really cute btw). He called me after his meeting thinking some works need to be done but he asked me not to wear my belt ever again as its the same belt he bought together with his wife.

* * *

I basically wear anything and love to play with the way I look which is evident on the photos shown here.

Experiment! Don't just wear things according to what they are just intended to. Play! and have fun! You can wear your scarf like a turban, a head band even a blouse if you're daring enough etc. Same with neck ties.

The photos below will show you how you can play with your scarf.

I got up late and dont have the mood to dress up. I had no time to iron anymore so I just grabbed a grey t-shirt and decided to accentuate it with a scarf to look little more appropriate and chic for work.

You can either simply just hang on your shoulders or wrap it around your neck after a long day of work.

Be creative!!! You can achieve a chic look by wearing only a shirt and a pair of jeans. All it takes is working on what you have in your closet and mixing them together. And most importantly, have fun!!!

Paint the Town Red!

I was a little hesitant wearing this bloody red long-sleeve shirt to work this morning as the color is too strong. Men here in the Middle East most especially in Saudi Arabia rarely wear pastel/bright colors as it is always being associated with femininity. There is a common  stereotype that only women can do/wear this or that. Only women can wear gold. The thing is I have an undying love for bright colors! I went with my guts today by wearing this shirt and paired it with a baby blue leather belt.

Long sleeve shirt: Express, Dharan Mall, KSA
Dyed belt: River Island, Dharan mall, KSA
Skinny fit jeans: Penshoppe, Glorietta, Philippines
Shoes: Aldo, Dharan Mall

A lot of people keep themselves away from pastel colors most especially the color red when in fact it compliments any skin tone. I often heard then that red only looks good on fair skinned people way back home. Color is a must have in your wardrobe apart from having fancy accessories to adorn yourself.

The supermodel, Alek Wek (one of my most favorite supermodels of all time) have donned red dresses many times on the red carpet just like the photo below:

You'll never go wrong with plain colored shirts and try to collect some with colors as they help achieve a younger, fresher and cleaner look.

This photo is taken in front of our office when everyone was busy, good thing my boss had left early ( the mouse plays when the cat is not around as they say). Thanx to my co-worker who was kind enough to pull this off.

So guys! get some clothes of color and don't be afraid to wear them. Wear with full confidence!!
