Take me to the beach of Al Baher, Khobar (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia)

This photoshoot is inspired by the movie "The Beach" starring Leonardo Dicaprio with the soundtrack music below which I still love until now.

My Inspiration (photographed by Mr. Herbert Arceo)

I was very excited and ecstatic to be doing another pictorial with the fresh and talented photographer Mr. Herbert Arceo (HMA Photography). It took me a month to prepare for this. I had no idea what to wear or what kind of look I was going to channel until the movie "The Darjeeling Limited" (2007) suddenly flashed into my memory.

I love the west-meets-east theme of the movie. I fell in love with India most especially which give me the idea to visit it this coming May (Inshallah!).

How to find your individual style?

In this world of homogeneity where most if not all of us have the same pursuit in life and where everyone dresses almost the same, I find courage from those who defy social norms and simply wants to be different.
As the fashion industry dictates the latest trend, it is inevitable that we will see someone wearing identical piece of clothing. We all have been in this awkward situation; even celebrities haven’t escaped this on the red carpet. With this in mind, I’ve listed some tips that won’t just help you be different but will help you find your own individual style.
DIY. Be creative! Cutting, spraying, dying and adding details to your clothing can give an entirely different look to them.  Plan and design carefully to avoid the trashy look – unless that is what you are going for. A pair of scissors can do magic. Cutting is definitely the cheapest way to reinvent your clothes. You can add details on your clothes such as studs, beads or anything you please to do so. The sky is the limit!

Accessories. Accessorizing is the best way to bringing a look to another level. It’s true that accessories can make or break your look but hey be adventurous!  Don’t be afraid to accessorize! Just try to finish your look with the right pieces and right amount of accessories.

Shirt with floral brooch for an added style finished with loads of bracelets to complete the look.

Mix and match. Mixing and matching is the simplest way to achieving variety. The idea here is mixing pieces together to create a single look.  It would be best to experiment. This basic rule in fashion still applies today but now just about anything and everything can be mixed, but match carefully. A printed top looks busy when matched with a printed pair of pants. On the other hand,  you can create an impressively good look by mixing your casual shirt with a formal trouser. You can make a plain shirt and blue jeans ensemble look smart and chic by putting on a blazer.
Patronize style from different genres. Vintage never goes out of style. Explore vintage shops but if you don’t want to spend some pennies, dig into your grandparents’ closet.

Don’t just follow, set your own trend. When everyone seems to be wearing the same thing, try deviating from it. Be creative in finding new ways to give your self a new look.

Customization. Approach your local favorite designer or tailor and have custom-made clothes done for you.
Incorporate different influences. Cultural influences are definitely fashionable and stylish and apparently many top designers have been greatly inspired by this.
