Shoes on Spring/Summer 2013, New York Fashion Week

These shoes will definitely catch anyone's eyes that lay on them the same as the clothes did on the runway. They complete the whole look. The coolest, most stylish and exquisite shoes of different kinds have stepped on the runways of New York Spring/Summer 2013.

Flat shoes are understated and it is refreshing to see them on runways. I believe that designers are becoming more sensitive to the need of everyday women on comfort. Separate pieces and the deviation of Victoria Beckham from tight-fitting signature dresses is also evident on their footwear. Its never a Victoria Beckham without the high heels, surprisingly there were flat shoes.I love the unique look of Rodarte and the shoes are no exception. They look like something being worn by characters on a sci-fi or anime movie. There were crystal embellishments in the case of Rachel Roy and Christian Siriano (collaboration with Payless Shoes).

Make-up for Men?

Gone are the days of housewives basically to serve their husbands and children. Women nowadays are showing that they are just as good as men in any fields they embark career on.   They can be pilots, engineers, soldiers and even presidents. Hail and salute them for bringing excellence in men's world. "Android women empowerment" indicates diminishing stereotype amongst women thus society embraces modernity.

On the other hand, negativity connotes if a man does anything associated with women. Most especially in the name of vanity in any form amongst men, to the extent of using make-up  is a big "No" But why? You heard it right, make-up for men! make-up have hit stores and dont wonder when one day you'll come across a section dedicated to cosmetics for men. They have the same needs as women in resorting to make-up. With men's activities which makes their skin susceptible to skin damage, Make-up comes to rescue. Men have got to hide some flaws too and look good when he's out there to face the world.

Finally!  There are concealers specially designed for men like The Men Pen and Menaji which help conceals skin problems on the face like acne, scars, redness and other imperfections.

More Eid Holiday 2012 Photos

This is the second installment of my photoshoot in Riyadh last Eid holiday which I enjoyed a lot despite the hardship I and my friends have had to go through. 

I would also like to share other photos of my Eid holiday. I love the newly opened chic hotel we stayed at on Olaya Road.

Greeting the Eid Al Fitr with a Photoshoot in Riyadh

I was uber excited again for the Eid Al Fitr (August 19, 2012) which marks the end of the 30 day fasting of Muslims so few days ahead of time my friend and I have decided to celebrate the holiday in the city of Riyadh. Could there be any better place to celebrate it than the beautiful capital city?

I have been to Riyadh before but its definitely more adventurous this time. On this particular trip I pushed myself to do something risky and exciting. On my visit last year we've passed by the rocky mountains of Wadi Laban and I just fell in love with the place. This is exactly where I would love to have a photoshoot. It looks like a scene on a sci-fi movie. I'm thankful to my friends for making it happen.

It was around 7:00 in the morning when we arrived at the venue feeling conditioned and very positive climbing the peek easily. However, we haven't even reached half of the goal and we were already screeching to death.  The scorching heat of the sun and our lack of preparation had beaten us down. It might have helped if there was a cute guy on top and I would crawl until my last breathe just to reach it. We were not disappointed though as the place has a vast beautiful and breathtaking view to offer.

Avoiding possible circumstances that might put us in trouble, we sought for place to avoid attention from the drivers, residents and of course the police who constantly patrols around the clock.

I thought it is best to be in an Arab-nomad kind of look to match the beautiful rocky scenery. The Arab culture is as vibrant and colorful as any culture from different parts of the world.

Most of the pieces you find on the this look are from Splash. From the scarf which served as a turban and the scarf which I tied around my waist as a belt to my shirt. I love how the mixing of the colors turned out.
