Centrepoint Celebrates 100th Store Opening and Announces Aggressive Expansion Plans

As an avid shopper of the famous retailer in Middle East, I would like to share this good news to everyone.

·        Aims to Double Presence by 2019 and Expand Footprint to Iraq, Libya and African Countries

Dubai-UAE: 11 March, 2014 – Centrepoint, a unique retail format catering to families across the region with four leading brands from the Landmark Group under one roof, has unveiled aggressive expansion plans across the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

With 100 stores in its retail portfolio, Centrepoint is set to launch 20 stores this year and 15 stores next year across existing territories as well as new markets including Iraq, Libya and other African countries.

The announcement was made during a press meet on 11 March to celebrate the launch of the brand’s store at Al Ghurair Centre, Dubai – Centrepoint’s 100th outlet in the region.

The brand that was launched in 2005 in Kuwait currently retails four great brands under one roof - Babyshop, Splash, Shoe Mart and Lifestyle -  across Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan that collectively span an aggregate retail footprint of over five million square feet.

Vinod Talreja, Director, Centrepoint, said: “As an innovative, one-stop shopping concept, Centrepoint has received tremendous acceptance across all territories where it has a presence. Our success is a testimony not only to the quality of products and services we offer, but also to the practicality of having a single destination that meets the shopping needs of the entire family. With our experience of almost a decade, Centrepoint is well geared to enter new markets and explore further opportunities.”

Centrepoint has enjoyed significant success particularly in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait where the concept has evolved into a popular fashion destination for families. Saudi Arabia, top among the brand’s markets has 56 Centrepoint stores, followed by the UAE market that has 15   stores.

Simon Cooper, Head of Centrepoint, said: “Based on our exhaustive consumer research conducted in 2013 across our key markets in the GCC region, it is apparent that shoppers closely connect with the brand that Centrepoint represents. We process 35 million transactions annually. The average customer visits Centrepoint at least nine times in a year and shops for at least three of the four brands with their families. These trends are strong indicators of Centrepoint’s viability as a successful retail format.”

You should grab one for yourself too fellow fashion lovers!!!

Truth and Bare for the New Year 2014

Happy New Year everyone!

The dry winter in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been making me lazy for most days especially weekends having nothing to do other than getting glued on my couch watching movies, chatting online for hours forgetting almost that I have a personal blog and just daydreaming. I think part of being in that mood leads to thinking a lot of crazy stuff that can turn out to be good sometimes just like these photos below hehe! ( I hope so)

I haven't pondered much about my new year's resolution. This year I will just be myself always starting out with these photos which represents being true to oneself and being comfortable to our skin.

I hope you you like them!

Speaking of being true to oneself, This pink sheet just makes it more me.

Adventure to Al Abha, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Challenge: To travel on the southwestern part of the country solely and safe.

Happy Halloween guys!!! On this day, I would like to share a nice travel destination in the kingdom instead of some usual scary stuffs you see on this special day.

Sadly,  I feel like I haven't moved on from my failed relationship since the height of summer this year and winter is almost here, I thought I needed a break. I decided to book a flight to Al Abha via Nas Air for a little refresher and of course adventure.

Abha is the capital of Asir province in Saudi Arabia and it is a well known summer destination in the country because of its cold weather the whole year. It is around 1,450 kilometers away from my city, Dammam which is reachable by means of both land and air transportation. Its is situated at 2,200 meters above see level. Flocks of both local and neighboring Arab tourists visit the city each summer to enjoy the nice cold weather over there.

I was uber nervous taking this tour as it is my first time and I was travelling alone. My friends have tried convincing me not to pursue with this trip as they are concerned with my safety but they know how stubborn I could be. So yours truly grabbed his bag and traveled in style as usual.

You can't go to Abha without experiencing the famous attraction in the city, Cable car ride.

View from the Al Soda Mountains. Breathtaking indeed.

Honey vendors along the road.

Destination of the ride. It was just beautiful.

Road to Jeddah

Don't be afraid to travel in the kingdom guys, you'll be surprised that there are many beautiful and wonderful places this country has to offer.
